JAPANTOWN COMMUNITY BENEFIT DISTRICT (JCBD) CUTS THE RIBBON!

Japantown Community Benefit District’s (JCBD) introduces its newest Bigbelly Smart Waste Fleet as the city commits to addressing SF’s “notorious street cleanliness challenges.”  San Francisco’s KPIX 5 highlights the excitement at the Bigbelly Ribbon Cutting ceremony – WATCH & READ the full coverage Here:

The city introduced Bigbelly’s Smart Waste ecosystem to reduce litter & address unwanted access to trash. Beautification and Public Health have long been a concern for San Francisco, and investing in a technology that prioritizes these concerns is having a clean impact:

“It prevents dumpster diving. When you close this up, it blocks your hand for reaching in,” explained Paris Carthen, Operations Manager for the Japantown Community Benefits District. “You can’t reach in and grab trash.”

Understanding the Sustainability and Beautification advantages of Bigbelly technology and design, the city is now supporting CBDs in their funding to invest in smart, safe, solar compactors.
