New Trash and Recycling Receptacles Installed In Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

Located just outside of Philadelphia where Bigbelly has been used for smarter public space waste management for a decade now, we’re excited to have the Bryn Mawr and Lower Merion Township communities onboard and changing their public space waste and recycling operations with Bigbelly!

The new ‘double stations’ allow for hands-free trash disposal into Bigbelly’s flagship High Capacity (HC) solar-powered compactor model unit and proper recycling on-the-go into the Standard Capacity (SC) unit. Deploying a configuration featuring both waste and recycling at each bin location enables the community to properly dispose of their trash while enjoying the community’s public spaces. For town officials, they can measure and report on recycling diversion directly from the CLEAN Software system. The best solution for everyone!

BRYN MAWR, PA — Downtown Bryn Mawr has some new, tech-y trash and recycling receptacles thanks to Lower Merion Township’s Public Works crews. Crews recently installed eight sets of new environmentally friendly “Bigbelly” side-by-side trash and recycling containers. These new containers use solar energy to power a compactor inside them. Additionally, they have sensors that electronically let Public Works know when they need to be emptied. (Source: The Bryn Mawr-Gladwyne Patch)
